We first came across Cédric Sheva in March of this year, when his debut offering on Labyrinth Records arrived subtly in our inbox. The young Frenchman may be early on in his career but his sound stretches far beyond his years – that was the assertion we made in our last review and it’s a fact that certainly rings true now. Why? Because Cédric’s latest appearance on Labyrinth Records highlights exactly that: another release, another wonderful showcase in emotive, dancefloor-ready music.

The Tronica EP bears all the hallmarks of an artist finding his feet: and developing his own signature sound in the process. There’s a balance to his productions – one that leaves us starry-eyed in reflection but also fervently hungry to dance. Whether it be the slow-building tones of the title track or the punchy nature of 808’s, Cedric proves once again that his capabilities are plain to see.
