Detroit native Hazmat LIVE hooked up with Charlie & Eli of Soul Clap during an afterparty in Detroit, where Walter Howard (Hazmat) was flexing his Talkbox magic. Die-hard types may argue that they are treading on dangerous ground covering the seminal classic ‘No Ordinary Love’ by Sade, but we have to say they’ve seriously pulled it off and especially Delano Smith with his deeper remix.

Hazmat’s ‘Reimagination’ of this timeless cut keeps all the emotion of the original intact, and the love is stretched out over five varied interpretations. Hazmat LIVE’s vocoder is jaw-dropping, with added lush chords, and deep pads, while Soul Claps Charles Levine steps up with his widescreen spaced out Ben Watts inspired effort, which also has an instrumental (digital bonus) if you prefer to leave the Talkbox to the side. Detroit originator Delano Smith goes deeper, rubbing the remix with his pristine late-night sonics, with Hijacked Records bossman Antwon Faulkner laying down more impressive D-town flavours, raising the vibe and the tempo for a prime-time rendition of this timeless tune.

You can now listen to the full premiere of Delano Smith’s remix exclusively on When We Dip. Enjoy!
