WWD: Hello Rick, welcome to When We Dip!

Thanks for having me!

WWD: Riccardo Corda aka Rick Sanders, 1984, what are 5 adjectives to describe yourself?

I’m creative, curious, friendly, determined, and always smiling.

WWD: In which city do you live? How are you there?

I live in Cagliari, Sardinia, which is a nice place to live, its sunsets, its landscapes inspire me, therefore, there is a lot of this land in my music and not a small thing. I have the pleasure of living close to my family.

WWD: Starting at the beginning, can you tell us how you got into music?

My father was a DJ in a Cagliari’s club, so, there were two turntables and a lot of disco, funk classic house records in my house and at the age of 9, I started practicing. At 11 I received the Roland MS-1 sampler as a gift and I started experimenting with the first cuts and paste, at that time I realized how much I really love making my music.

WWD: Producer, DJ: which is the dominant part? Is there something in you that push harder than the others?

Doing DJ and producer are two fundamental aspects of my life, 50/50 there is no one side that prevails over the other.

WWD: Do you remember a party that left its mark on you?

Summer3p Festival in Serbia, it was the first time I played in front of 3000 people, was an amazing experience, I can see the thing still in my mind.

WWD: We really enjoyed your single ‘True Friends’, your remix ‘Inner Voice’, and your brand new track ‘Don’t Hesitate’.  With everything back to normal now, what can we expect from you this year?

It has been a difficult 2 years for me but also significant, I had the opportunity to reflect a lot on my life and my choices. I’m working a lot on my new setup, trying to make it more energetic and always influenced by soul, funk, deep and house stuff. Right now, I’m finishing the single that I would like to be released for the summer, and other three secret tracks… stay tuned !!!
