The Redimension label makes a welcome return here with a new EP from Italian techno titan Markantonio. The label has been on a brief hiatus to focus on building a platform that can champion forward-thinking sounds, while encouraging a productive and fertile environment for artists to flourish. This powerful new three-tracker does just that and finds Markantonio drawing on all his many years of experience. He has been at the top of his game for two decades, cooking up fresh sounds on the best label’s in the underground. This new EP is a testament to that.

‘Myself’ opens up with turbocharged drums and big hi-hat ringlets. The synths are edgy and bright, as they build up in layers and wash over you time and time again. ‘Bust’ then gets more raw and percussive, with chattery hi-hats adding real drama to the nimble late night techno beats. It’s an atmospheric track that really keeps you on your toes. Last of all is ‘Hands’, a hard-edged and heavy techno cut that is stripped back but potent, with hypnotic synth lines really casting their spell.

This is another standout EP from the vital Markantonio. You can now listen to the full premiere of ‘Myself’ exclusively on When We Dip. Enjoy!
