SPIL Records launches with label founder Jack Swift’s ‘Elevate’ EP, with the Londoner backed by remixes from Inermu boss James Dexter and garage legend Jeremy Sylvester.
One of the scene’s most talented and technical individuals behind the decks and an artist building his reputation as an established producer, London-based talent Jack Swift is getting ready to level things up further following an impressive twelve months. Having released material via AVTR, Politics Of Dancing, Inermu, and Make You Move Records, his next release welcomes the launch of a new project in the form of his own label, SPIL RECORDS. Showcasing the sounds of his hometown and its influences within house and beyond, the first release welcomes an impressive array of talent with the label boss delivering two fresh originals backed by remixes from Inermu head-honcho and close friend James Dexter, and highly influential house and garage icon, Jeremy Sylvester.

The title track ‘Elevate’ showcases Swift’s growing sound, fusing traditional House with UK and US Garage influences, combining hazy pads and sweeping leads with skippy drums and an infectious core groove. Next, ‘That’s It Mate’ builds on things as dubby chords guide tough kicks, heavy low-end sonics, and further swirling cosmic melodies. James Dexter’s take on ‘That’s It Mate’ sees the UK favourite draw for two-step percussion arrangements and a murky and menacing bassline, before Jeremy Sylvester closes the show in style with his ‘Vintage Rub’ – harnessing resonant organs and soulful vocal interjections to journey into classic UK Garage territories.
