Fur Coat has been at the forefront of the electronic music scene for the past decade, steadily building his reputation as a producer, DJ and label owner (Øddity Records).
As a producer Fur Coat’s consistent release schedule places emphasis on quality and expressing himself as an artist. With two acclaimed albums including 2020’s ‘Polyphony’ on Renaissance the Fur Coat sound can be heard on the likes of Balance, Last Night On Earth, Just This, Systematic, Watergate, Crosstown Rebels and of course Øddity Records – the label that Sergio Muñoz (Fur Coat) founded in 2017. On the remix front his takes on the music of Stephan Bodzin, Eli & Fur, Röyksopp, Sasha and WhoMadeWho…along with highly prized Fur Coat originals all see heavy rotation of his music from the likes of Pryda, Tale Of Us, Adriatique, Mind Against, Kölsch, Solmun and many more.
On the DJ front Fur Coat sets are all about creating a journey for the listener founded on melody creativity and taking his audience through a range of emotions – something evident in recorded sets for BBC Radio 1’s legendary Essential Mix and mix CD for the iconic Balance Presents series. Based in Barcelona, Fur Coat can be seen live every weekend at Europe’s best clubs and events like Extrema Outdoor, WeCanDance, DGTL, Fabric, Watergate, Rex Club, Hive and Pacha. Sergio maintains a busy schedule that sees regular Fur Coat tours of North America and South America appearing at top festivals and clubs like: Space Miami, Spybar, Stereo, Warung, D-Edge, Crobar, as well as touring around Asia and Australia.
As a true artist with a thirst for new music and creativity Fur Coat can be found hard at work in the studio when not on the road. Constantly looking for new music to present in his DJ sets or release on Øddity, Fur Coat strives to innovate and explore – pushing his personal musical vision and that of his label forwards. The Fur Coat sound keeps evolving, never standing still as Sergio sets aim for new high points and goals in a career he’s truly passionate about. This exciting path has led to Fur Coat’s recent live performance with a 20-piece orchestra at unique event space Gashouder. A major career high point with many more to follow in a journey that never stands still, full of excitement and endless possibilities.
