From early work for AtlantDigital and Jetlag Digital in late 2008 / early 2009, Juan Deminicis quickly found his work in-demand. A myriad of independent blue-chip labels quickly came calling for the Argentinean’s distinctive sound as Proton Music, Replug and Perspectives Digital found a home for his music. Over time, more than 400 production credits have become allied to the Juan Deminicis name as Hernan Cattaneo’s Sudbeat Music, Pablo Bolivar’s Seven Villas and Guy J’s Lost & Found continued to highlight his musical prowess amongst some of the world’s most-respected progressive house imprints.

And so it is with the greatest pleasure that Proportion welcomes Juan Deminicis to make his debut for the Dmitry Molosh led imprint with a typically high calibre offering. Driven by a fizzing, groove-laden percussive backbone, “Intuition” lilts effortlessly forward, propelled by an easy bassline sequence and deep kick. Hitting its stride in the early phases, a sharp-edged analogue lead creates a memorable lead line, ably accompanied by beautifully cadenced piano chords. Dropping into a beatless breakdown, the synth and piano motifs combine in unencumbered fashion before the mesmerising rhythmic foundation once again makes its presence felt in a smooth, club-friendly masterpiece.

Continuing the tranquil melodic narrative of its counterpart, “Two Walls” is a majestic track that quickly reveals a smooth synth line meandering effortlessly across its 6-minutes. Redolent in delays and reverb, the free-flowing motifs sit atop a chugging percussive structure that fizzes with white-noise and hi-hat urgency. An exquisitely sculpted piano sequence provides a moment of introspection at the breakdown before the dynamic rhythm and familiar melodic sequences of earlier phrases are built upon in the third movement. The result is the delivery of yet another moment of unrivalled quality from Juan Deminicis and the manifestation of an imagination at the height of its bewitching powers.
