UK-based Steve Kelley is the epitome of a house music success story, coming up just as superclubs were reaching mass potential, he became a resident DJ for Godskitchen warming up for the greatest DJs of their time. Taking this invaluable knowledge, he built an enviable career including consulting for NI on their nascent Traktor Pro project, releases on labels as far reaching as Phonetic, Capital Heaven and The Soundgarden, running his own events and starting his own label, Celestial.

Opening with ‘If You Search’ a soulful vibe with a message, chunky house grooves and a dubby stab get your feet immediately tapping. Ebbing and flowing with consummate ease, the track soon infiltrates your mind living rent free long after the last beat drops. ‘Talking’ follows suit. Growing slowly and hypnotically, this deep houser packs a lot of punch. Breaking momentarily with warming chords, the vibe is quickly back to heads down late night groove in no time.

On remix duties, Romanian superstar Mihai Popoviciu takes us on a sonic journey with his reinterpretation of ‘If You Search.’ Stripping the percussion back and adding a deep, meaty bass, he reinvigorates the track with musicality and subtle touches. Bondage favourite, Alexander Matchak takes ‘Talking’ in a new direction focusing more on the vocal and the vibe of the original to make a cool crossover groove.
