Manqo, as the word translates, is “an imperfection.” Born as a mistake – Manqo is a result of a chance encounter combined with a creative impulse between two friends with different musical tastes and styles. Manqo is a blend of soulful, melodic, and atmospheric sounds.

Manqo’s musical journey took flight with the support of Keinemusik’s Rampa with their first release, “Won’t Change,” on the VOD imprint — also featured on GTA-5 (Grand Theft Auto V). Naturally, it wasn’t long before the mysterious allure of the unidentified duo caught the attention of Damian Lazarus, who immediately signed two EPs to his Crosstown Rebels imprint. The first EP released on Crosstown was backed by a remix from Black Coffee himself, followed by a second EP with a remix by Ida Engberg. They have also collaborated with a diverse range of artists, from Parcels to Hyenah to Gina Jeanz, capturing their vision of creating a unique fusion of atmospheric sounds.

MANQO may have been an accident, but the music was destined to be heard. For now, we can only listen to the story unfold as it writes itself, one chance encounter at a time.
