Presenting their second release of the year, Phenomena welcomes Elias Erium back to the label for a new single. On the strength of 2023’s ‘Echoes,’ a five-track showcase to end the year in celebration of the label’s five-year anniversary, the Canadian artist would begin 2024 with the well-received ‘Follow the Signal.’

Fully formed within the confines of his Montreal studio, the February release would find Elias continuing his explorative path into Melodic House & Techno, with a definitive lean into the darker and more peak-time oriented aspects of the genre. Favoured by a cross-section of DJs from Mind Against to Markus Schulz and John OO Fleming, the two-track showcase would set the course for what promises to be another standout year for the Canadian. Now, opening the spring season, Phenomena presents a prelude to Erium’s forthcoming ‘All Equal’ EP, unveiling the project’s introductory single entitled ‘Stimulate.’

‘Stimulate’ sets the pace and lands with many of the production hallmarks for which Elias has become so beloved. Tight beats and propulsive drums provide a DJ friendly intro, as the bassline drops for a rush of pneumatic energy. Stepping decisively on the gas, it’s a free-flowing exchange of siren-like wails and clustered synth mutations which provide an enduring marriage leading into the break. Warm rippling chord changes serve as an emotive anchor across the interlude, one where rising modulation and a vortex of drums meet in a goosebump worthy crescendo, before a rejuvenating finale breaks into a rich textural rain of melodic colour, where euphoria awaits with arms raised and eyes closed.

You can now listen to ‘Stimulate’ exclusively on When We Dip. Enjoy!
