Alighted presents the two-track EP ‘In My Time’ out on Garden Broom Recordings.

The new release is as playful as it is mysterious. ‘In My Time’ opens with a melodic motif that arrives like the first light of the sun, gently urging the listener to wake up and breathe in the fresh air. Just as sunlight sets the day in motion, the groove activates the track, providing a steady pulse over which sequences of synthesizers come and go like clouds in the sky. Inspired by late -night drives between Colchester, Vermont, and the Adirondacks in upstate New York, ‘7 To Colchester’ captures the hypnotic allure of traveling under twinkling stars and the sliver of the moon against the backdrop of Vermont’s pastoral landscape. Vocalist Mana Contractor, who collaborates with the artist under the alias NMND, contributes to the sense of tranquility and nostalgia with vocal textures that float over a continuous stream of dreamy synthesizers and sampled instruments.
