Vivrant’s third release of 2024 marks the return of Stockholm native, Berlin-based MOLØ. After making her debut on the label five years ago with career-first release ‘Vanadis’ alongside label founder Jeremy Olander, she’s put out originals on Marc Romboy’s Systematic, UK behemoth Anjunadeep and delivered Radio 1-supported remixes for Eli & Fur as well as Duccio on Moscoman’ Disco Halal. Her music has been supported by some of dance music’s most prominent stars ranging from Whomadewho, Kevin De Vries to Above & Beyond, Guy J, and BBC’s Sian Eleri.

‘Aqua Lull,’ MOLØ’s debut album, is the first of a series of short-form albums from Vivrant. Occupying the space between the traditional EP format of 2-5 tracks and full-length 10-12 track albums, the series seeks to offer label artists comprehensive artistic freedom. Artists are given free rein over all creative aspects of the release and can see their holistic vision grow to life from idea to execution.

MOLØ explains: “Over the past five years, the scene has changed. I’ve seen many small clubs and live music spaces close down, resulting in new artists being pressured to conform to what people in power say move tickets and streams. This pressure clashed with my creative process and what I was making didn’t fit the mold of a peak time set.”

The seven-track album features four solo originals and three collaborations with NYC’s atish, Iranian vocalist Running Pine, and Swedish multi-instrumentalist and producer boerd, known for his work with Gud and Stella Explorer.

From the serene and atmospheric ‘Levi,’ the melancholic yet uplifting ‘Balo,’ to the tranquil and soothing ‘Chelle’, MOLØ presents a timeless and impressive body of work in ‘Aqua Lull’ set to take fans on a captivating sonic journey.

“This past year turned out to be a real eye-opener for me. I discovered a new side of myself that wasn’t in line with the high-energy club and festival scene. You can’t control what comes out in the studio. You can try, but it won’t feel authentic if you create art to please anyone but you. The freedom to express yourself and that electronic music can be anything is what drew me to the scene in the first place. This album is a celebration of that,” says MOLØ.

You can now listen to the full premiere of atish & MOLØ’s ‘Idyll,’ exclusively on When We Dip. Enjoy!
