Following the success of her recently released ‘Palm Dreams’ album, NYC’s up and coming DJ, singer, songwriter and producer, Barbara, continues to gather momentum at a rapid pace with a host of new singles forthcoming. First up is her hot new collaboration with San Francisco’s regular Blue Magenta artist, Sasheen, on ‘Feel Your Soul.’ Underpinned by a sophisticated bubbling deep house soundtrack, Barbara delivers a seductive vocal performance with meaningful lyrics that alluringly flow over Sasheen’s emotive groove.
“We were in the same San Francisco house scene for a number of years but never collaborated. ‘Feel Your Soul’ started its life as a piano sketch that I sent to Barbara who loved it and immediately returned with a cell phone recording demo that I loved. It would be difficult to discover it was our debut track because ‘Feel Your Soul’ came together like bread with butter.” – Sasheen
Beginning her career several years ago, Barbara beamed her love of deep house, Italo disco, tech house, progressive house out on to San Francisco’s and NYC’s dancefloors. Barbara is quite the creative force to be reckoned with, playful and fresh with her approach to music creation and exploring all the genres within it, as her 15 track debut album, ‘Palm Dreams’ (2024), perfectly showcases. Barbara is a DJ, producer, a gifted storytelling songwriter and vocalist, who is now stepping into the spotlight as a label boss with the launch of her Good Crazy label. Her releases include collaborations with the likes of Nhii and Lefti, Model Man, Luxe Agoris, Ede, and regular cohort Ed Hoffman on successful singles ‘Hey Gurl Hey’ (Data Transmission) and ‘Feet Money’ (Dirtybird Records). Barbara’s got lots of projects in the pipeline, so expect to hear her productions on a wide range of important dance music imprints throughout 2024.
