Fur Coat & Olivier Giacomotto mint their debut collaboration as both artists land on Truesoul for the first time.

The artists first connected in a meaningful way in late 2023, with the release of Giacomotto’s ‘Empty Space’ EP on Fur Coat’s Øddity imprint, with the Venezuelan quickly sensing Giacomotto’s deft sonic touch would make for an absorbing collaboration.

He wasn’t wrong. ‘The Wall in the Mirror’ is a pearl. The EP kicks off with ‘Wall,’ which begins as a storming headlong trip into the deep, highlighted by an entrancing vocal chant, before the energy swells to a stirring crescendo as soaring synths and thunderous percussion give the track plenty of epic intent. ‘Mirror’ is a masterclass built around a captivating vocal, which brings both emotion and stunning sound design in buckets. A truly special track fit for powering a dancefloor or closing out the night on a thrilling high.

“I’ve known Olivier’s music for many years, and been a big fan of his sound. We met through a friend we have in common, BOg during an Atlant showcase in Beirut. After that, we connected online and Olivier sent me an EP for my label. I proposed to him to do a collaboration as I thought our combined sound would deliver something interesting. After some months working online, we managed to do this pack which we happily signed to Truesoul. When Adam tested the tracks and got back to us, we were really happy that they found the right home.” – Fur Coat
