UK landmark label 20:20 Vision headed up by underground hero Ralph Lawson, continues to keep his ears to the ground, signing LA 3-piece ASHRR to the imprint.
Sun-kissed swagger, psychedelic hues, dosed up on a reflective euphoria experienced through a modern lens, ASHRR arose from LA’s bubbling musical underbelly in 2018. Comprised of Ethan Allen, Josh Charles, and Steven Davis, ASHRR was a chance for these three to let loose, distilling down soul- infused, funked-up space disco, new wave and indie electronica. Melodic, cosmic disco feels with an injection of a post-punk edge, synthesised and hazy yet with an analogue authority. Ethan and Josh work their magic at the controls, while Steven’s luscious vocal provides an illuminating aura.
Their newest single, ‘Different Kind of Life,’ lands on wax with remixes from the longstanding figurehead of Berlin’s electronic music culture ‘Massimiliano Pagliara.’ With releases across Meakusma, Ostgut Ton, Cocktail d’Amore, in addition to holding a residency at the iconic Panorama Bar, Massimiliano Pagliara has established himself as one of the most innovative figures in house and techno today.
ASHRR adds to Massimiliano’s reworks with a ‘Soundsystem Version’ that wraps up another unmissable outing from the LA trio that is laced throughout with their unique sun-kissed swagger.
