Adana Twins and Upercent link up for seductive new single ‘Darkness’ on TAU.

TAU label heads Adana Twins are accomplished German tastemakers. Their cultured sounds often delve into deep, dark, emotionally-charged territory whether rooted in house, tech or nuanced retro-futurism. Their music has come out on the likes of Afterlife, Diynamic, and Watergate while they are long-time favourites on the global underground club and festival circuit who play everywhere from Ibiza to Tokyo via New York and Brazil. For this one, they collaborate with TAU label artist Upercent, an unorthodox talent known for experimentation and avant-garde soundtracks on top imprints like Innervisions and Kompakt. 

Their brilliantly moody ‘Darkness’ has infectious broken beats and kicks with a smoky and soulful vocal whisper next to silky synth loops. The bassline is raw and menacing down low as the track unfolds, and emotion builds to an explosive peak that will get hands in the air. 

Vital veteran, Applied Magic label founder and Berlin-based talent Aera has more than two decades’ worth of experience crafting inspired tracks for some of the scene’s finest labels. Here, he flips ‘Darkness’ into an eerie and stripped-back minimal cut with a rumbling low end and haunting synth patterns that bring a twisted edge to rousing vocals.
