2024 sees acclaimed DJ and producer DJ W!LD release his fifth album this summer, sitting comfortably on his established label, The W. Known for his unique and party-starting take on house and techno, the pioneering Parisian showcases his versatility as he targets the 2-step genre, heavily influenced by the nostalgic UK vibe adored by many. ‘What I Do In The Shadows’ spans across nine tracks, crammed with pacey peak time action from one of the finest to do it for multiple decades. The album will be cut on to 2×12” and released a few weeks apart from each other. Two records ready to find a comfortable home within the record bags of tastemakers this summer.

As times evolve, one thing remains constant, W!LD is always looking to grow, but stays firmly appreciating sounds and fascinations of times gone by, and with this cohesive body of work he addresses exactly that. Floating between various refined shades of garage, and UK tech house, leaning on energetic drum patterns in the likes of ‘High As A Kite,’ and ‘I’ve Never Cried,’ utilizing sub heavy side winding bass lines in dance floor riddims such as ‘Marijuana’ and the title track ‘What I Do In The Shadows.’ Heads down, gun fingers up action from beginning to end, teeing W!LD up for another strong year to add to his career, and another stand out release slotting in perfectly to his extensive catalogue.

W!LD maintains his stay at the forefront of the underground and beyond year on year, always looking to explore new territory, enhancing his artillery by delving in to new genres, and letting these influences breathe life into his meandering DJ sets whether that be at his own Take A Trip events or for promoters in all corners of the globe. This genre melding approach is something he also adds to his productions as he has six other albums archived for future releases touching on House, Minimal, and Electro, but also other shades of the spectrum including Drum & Bass, Trip Hop, and Ambient. A true master of his craft, expressing himself with a limitless attitude, broadening his creativity even after all of this time.
