With their creative partnership stretching over more than a decade, Frankey & Sandrino are a formidable duo whose output represents an open-minded and experimental approach. Since they got together back in 2009, Frankey & Sandrino have established themselves as a diverse production outfit, choosing to fulfil their creative desires over following trends and hype.

Their will to stay true to themselves, through whatever life may throw at them, has led to a wide range of successes, signing their unique productions to labels such as Innervisions, Mule Musiq, Kompakt, Diynamic and their own Sum Over Histories.

Together they have established a legacy rooted in authenticity, creativity and a steadfast commitment to their own satisfaction above all else. The result is a discography full of distinct cuts and dance floor anthems, each release representing the duo’s signature sound, while also taking them in new directions. Currently in full flow, with a powerful 2024 already mapped out, Frankey & Sandrino are readying themselves for another upwards shift…

Frank Beckers and Sandrino Tittel first bonded with one another through being part of the same friendship group; party people, promoters, DJs, they were all connected through music and, eventually, they got in the studio together. It soon became apparent that their dedication to music had a more serious intent than their friends, and the beginnings of a partnership emerged. Frankey’s formal training and vast experience as a multi-instrumentalist, combined with Sandrino’s diverse tastes; from his native Romanian folk to nineties techno, and more. What keeps these two together is the harmonious balance between their individual energies. Their differences unite them, as well as their mutual understanding. This harmony and balance lies at the root of Frankey & Sandrino’s longevity and ingenuity.

Over the years they have developed a dynamic that operates outside the pressures of commercialism. For Frankey and Sandrino, making music is about putting one’s ego to the side, and doing it for the pleasure. Commercially-driven creativity can often become soulless. They cite Rick Rubin’s quote, “The time for commercial considerations is after the work is complete”, when discussing their approach. It’s about emptying the mind, not giving in to external influences and being at one with the process. For Frankey and Sandrino, the most important aspect of making music is achieving a feeling of contentment with what they have produced – reaching a point where they have a deep knowing that their composition is special. This can be heard on many of their biggest hits so far; ‘Acamar’, ‘Wega’ and ‘Ways of the Sun’, for instance.

Originality, not following fashion, feeling, not how many likes, or streams, they will get. Of course, this is not the easiest path, but it’s one that they have chosen because, ultimately, it brings the most satisfaction and inspires them to continue making music. There is no formula, no formalised process and that permeates into their music, giving it a distinct flavour.

With each performance they bring the same authentic approach, cultivating moments of release and euphoria combined with more subtle elements. All night long appearances, like those at Stereo, especially, giving the duo a chance to achieve the levels of depth with their audience they yearn for. Their label, inaugurated in 2016, continues to support and release music that is aligned with their values. In 2024, the release schedule is packed with artists and releases that epitomize Frankey & Sandrino’s open-minded ethos, while also delivering plenty of good energy to the dance floor.

By making themselves happy, they have also provided sonic pleasure for countless people all over the world. Co-signed by some of the world’s most influential labels, while also building their own influential platform, Frankey & Sandrino’s strength lies in their longstanding friendship, their unwavering commitment to stay true to themselves and a love for music that runs way deeper than they could ever put into words!

This week, we warmly welcome the creators and curators of music for the closed-eyed-dancers to our Main Mix with a carefully crafted All Night Long set from Zukunft in Zurich. It’s a masterful ride rife with their signature nuance, niche, and sincerity. Enjoy the journey!
