The ever cultured Francesca Lombardo lands on Maison D’Etre with a new single featuring a Francesco Tristano appearance and a mix from Anthony Middleton under his The Darker The Night alias.

Lombardo has cultivated a sound of her own via an emotional narrative of dreamy soundscapes, stirring melodies, and hypnotic rhythms on esteemed labels like Crosstown Rebels, Mobile,e and her own Echoe and Echolette imprints amongst others.

Says Francesca, “‘It All Starts With A Star'” is a track very close to my heart. It was made during full cosmic connection, the piano itself came from space and so did the lyrics and melody.”

The track is a lush electronic sound with widescreen pads and silky drums that undulate down low. Twinkling pads bring cosmic feels next to breathy female vocals that add in smoky soul.

Francesco Tristano then featured on the piano for the second cut where the original is flipped into a more direct minimal house sound with dubby low ends and the pensive piano keys from the original up top. The Monotonic Club Mix is even more direct and edgy with glitchy textures and bubbly bass under a fresh groove and menacing vocal sounds.

Anthony Middleton, who is one half of AudioFly, then steps up under his The Darker The Night alias with a remix that is an eight minute ambient masterpiece with suspensory pads, swirling vocal motifs and a vast open sense of space that floats you to the stars.

You can now listen to the full premiere of ‘It All Starts With A Star’ exclusively on When We Dip. Enjoy!
