Inspired by the mysteries of the universe, and life itself, Hannes Bieger’s forthcoming album ‘Galaxies’ establishes the German artist’s pedigree, as a highly-skilled producer and engineer and a vibrant creative mind. Encapsulating his thoughts and feelings about the human experience in relation to the universe, existentialism and what it means to be conscious, ‘Galaxies’ is a formidable body of work. Latest single, ‘Stardust,’ ventures deeper into this concept, with emotionally-charged vocals from Icelandic singer FEY. Working with the vocalist has been an ambition of Hannes’ for some time, and the collaboration is especially poignant having showcased her track with Tripolism, ‘Volta,’ on his Balance Series mix.
The track gets rolling with a jaunty bassline and repeated motifs that captivate from the very beginning. Hannes’ typically progressive approach to production sees the main melody develop and shift, while FEY’s voice is introduced steadily in the first half. Her delicate, yet emotive vocal delivery glides gently over Hannes’ instrumental. It’s a wonderfully complementary combination, her voice intertwined with the sonics during a tension-building breakdown, that unleashes the power of this cut. Her lyrics describe the chemistry of love, “Moments pass like fireworks between your heart and my heart,” she sings. It’s a heartfelt ode to the overall theme of the album.
The uplifting melodic layers continue to reverberate alongside a variety of cheerful elements… There’s a sense of playfulness and good energy that flows through ‘Stardust,’ as you may expect from the title. It’s optimistic and evokes positivity right up until the end. With FEY’s vocals flowing naturally throughout to provide a heartrending human element. A dream for Hannes, and for anyone who experiences this creative collaboration.
