The Maison D’Etre label welcomes Puerto Rican talent Cali Lanauze for one of his signature deep outings across four new tracks on the ‘Anonymous Call’ EP.

Born in San Juan, Puerto Rico, Cali has mastered the art of laying down dark, eclectic grooves. They renege from deep and dubby to more loopy and driving but always come with layers of melody, glitchy vocals, and melancholic pads that tell a story on labels like Visionquest, Crosstown Rebels, Slacker 85, his own label Opulence, and many more.

This one opens with ‘Order By Relevance’ which is a nice zoned out sound with gentle drums and lavish chords draped over the groove. Add in some starry melodies and you have a lush, heartfelt gem. ‘Kilometros’ then layers gentle toms over snappy drums with mystic pads off in the distance.

‘Marose’ brings a bubbly rhythm imbued with soft shakers and glistering tambourines. A stark bassline rises up through the mix to bring trippy energy and keep things on the move. ‘Anonymous Call’ is a cosmic tech cut with nice supple pads making for a widescreen atmosphere over the sleek beats.

This is another cultured outing from the always evolving Cali Lanauze which further defines the diversity of this label, and its ethos to push beautiful music and explore genres.

You can now listen to the full premiere of ‘Order By Relevance’ exclusively on When We Dip. Enjoy!
