Budakid brings evocative sounds and cinematic storytelling to his music on labels like Anjunadeep, Lost&Found, Permanent Vacation and Diynamic as well as his own Flores imprint. He has performed worldwide from Tomorrowland and Sonar Festival to Miami Music Week and Amsterdam Dance Event, whilst tastemakers like Bonobo, Black Coffee, Solomun and Hernan Cattaneo are fans of his music.

For this latest release, he works with the hotly-tipped, Melbourne-based Rromarin, who has picked up more than 40 million streams for her sounds. They traverse genres and soundscapes with style and 2025 marks a new era that finds Rromarin exploring melodic and percussive house as a solo artist as well as continued collaborations such as this one.

Says Budakid: “It was one of the most fun projects and creative processes I’ve worked on in recent years. A collaborative effort between me and Australian vocalist Rromarin, where I tried to pour a summer vacation feel into a record. Brad Coleman, an old friend of mine, finished it off with some kinky guitar playing. Also, the mixing process, which I faced with Chris Allen, gave me pure joy.”

The brilliant ‘Better O’be New’ is an arresting blend of psychedelic indie, deep electronic grooves and modern club music that oozes sun and sea to the point that you can almost feel the rays on your face and the waves at your feet. Rromarin’s vocals shimmer up top and layer in the soul next to the breezy Balearic guitar from Brad Coleman and Budakid’s beats and production, which elevate the track into a laidback summer anthem.

Roy Rosenfeld is right at the heart of the current house scene with a famously evocative, organic and escapist style on labels like All Day I Dream. He flips the original into a more club-ready yet deep version with melancholic synths and a textured bassline adding extra weight. His signature sound and deft touch mean the vocal and guitar still feature and ensure this is a summer-ready sound.

You can now listen to the full premiere of Roy Rosenfeld’s ‘Better O’ be New’ remix, exclusively on When We Dip. Enjoy!
