The legendary Icelandic electronic band GusGus has Dear Deer Records offer up a stellar remix EP that breaths new life into two of their their most iconic tracks: ‘Rivals’ and ‘When We Sing,’ featuring the ethereal vocals of long-time collaborators Vök. Curated by label founder Alex Kaspersky, the release serves as both a tribute and a reinvention that breathes new life into GusGus’ signature sound through the lenses of five distinct artists.

This release is more than music – it’s a gesture of unity and support as Dear Deer Records will donate a portion of the income generated from sales to humanitarian aid for Ukraine, helping civilians and victims affected by the ongoing war and Russian aggression.

The Italian techno powerhouse Sasha Carassi delivers a masterfully restrained and cinematic remix of ‘When We Sing.’ With hypnotic arpeggios, a deep atmospheric build, and subtle tension, Carassi elevates the track into a moody, late-night masterpiece. Ukrainian Indie Dance talent DAARI brings a warm, groove-laden reinterpretation of ‘When We Sing.’ Her version pulses with nostalgic synths, dreamy textures, and effortless rhythm – a dancefloor moment filled with emotion.

With his rework of ‘Rivals,’ Ukrainian producer Cafius channels melodic house energy, layering hypnotic basslines with rich harmonic textures. The result is a track that feels cinematic and immersive, yet deeply physical. Known for bold club-driven productions, Larsun Hesh reimagines ‘When We Sing’ with a raw, electronica-infused twist – blending percussive energy with distorted textures and heavy analog grit. A fearless take with punch and purpose. The Dear Deer label boss rounds off the EP with a melodic, emotionally resonant version of ‘Rivals.’ His remix is a slow-burning journey, where layered synths and subtle harmonic shifts meet an elegant, modern groove.
