London-based DJ, producer, and label head James Dexter will release his long-awaited debut album ‘Here Now’ on 10th October via his own acclaimed imprint, Inermu. The release arrives as both a personal and professional landmark, encapsulating the evolution of an artist who has long stood at the heart of the UK’s underground, while also marking ten years since the founding of one of the scene’s most consistent and respected labels.

Across ten tracks, ‘Here Now’ showcases the full arc of James’s musical journey to date, from hazy, dub-tinged rollers and swung, minimal rhythms to driving garage-laced grooves. Tracks like ‘Feels’ and ‘Reese’s Groove’ (released ahead of the full LP on 5th and 19th September respectively) underline his refined, floor-focused approach, while cuts like ‘Sunday Service’ and ‘Back To The Sunshine’ dig deeper into more emotive territory. The result is a record that both looks back and steps forward, a statement that captures the versatility, restraint, and immersive drive that have defined his sound across countless EPs and endless club sets.

“I wanted to create a body of work that truly represents my sound as an artist — one that showcases every side of my productions while flowing seamlessly from start to finish as a complete listening journey. With ‘Here Now,’ I feel I’ve achieved exactly that, and I couldn’t be prouder.”- James Dexter.

At its core, ‘Here Now’ reflects the kind of musical philosophy that can only be developed over time: one built on patience, instinct, and a genuine connection to the dancefloor. In an era often dominated by speed and saturation, the album offers something different… carefully constructed tracks that breathe, build, and move with purpose. For James, the LP is as much about creative freedom as it is about celebration: a chance to join the dots between different strands of his style, and to share something long-form and lasting. It’s not just a look back, it’s a reaffirmation of what he and Inermu stand for.

The release follows and builds on Inermu’s recent 10th anniversary celebrations at fabric London in August, where the head honcho was joined by close friends and label favourites Janeret, Jack Swift, Parsec, and Farzala for a night that underlined the imprint’s impact on the capital. Founded in 2015, Inermu has built a reputation for groove-driven releases from key figures including ANOTR, Chris Stussy, Toman, Djebali, Tuccillo, and Mihai Popoviciu, earning a place among Beatport’s all-time best-selling Minimal/Deep Tech labels.

Where many albums aim for reinvention, ‘Here Now’ leans into evolution. It’s the culmination of a ten-year run defined by a quiet refusal to compromise. With previous releases spanning Gruuv, ORIGINS RCRDS, Bondage Music, Cyclic, and, of course, Inermu, James’ tracks have landed in endless record bags and charts worldwide, earning long-time support from tastemakers including Enzo Siragusa, Jamie Jones, Archie Hamilton, and Prunk. With this project, he cements his position as one of the UK’s leading purveyors of deep, minimal, and timeless house, offering a distilled and detailed insight into the sound that has brought him to this moment, and the foundation for what comes next.
