BoucleDor, whose name means Golden Locks in English, is a French DJ and music producer with a rich identity shaped by North African and Greek roots. He represents a new wave of Afro House, blending oriental melodies, Afro percussion, and subtle touches of Tech to create a sound that is truly his own.

With over one million streams, BoucleDor’s music resonates across the globe. He has performed at prestigious venues and festivals including Momento Marbella, Palosanto NYC, Miami, Los Angeles, Porto (Portugal), Saint-Martin, Panama, Paris, Saint-Tropez, Bulgaria and Marseille, where he frequently plays at “La Cabane des Amis” as well as “Barta Club.”

Accustomed to performing in front of crowds of over 3,000 people, BoucleDor captivates audiences with powerful, emotionally charged sets designed as true musical journeys.

On the production side, his releases have made an impact, including a track signed to Joezi’s label and supported by artists such as Aron Sevilla, Rivo, Deer Jade, Adriatique and many others. He has also reached the Top 5 multiple times on Beatport in the Afro House category.

A complete artist and creative entrepreneur, BoucleDor is the founder of Adama Records, his own label. He is also the creator of the party concept Les 3 Ours, a growing movement between Paris and Saint-Tropez, known for its hot air balloon festival.

With a strong digital presence over 230,000 followers on TikTok, 21,000 on Instagram, and millions of video views BoucleDor shares his world across multiple platforms. His YouTube channel features live sets filmed in extraordinary locations, while his SoundCloud continues to grow steadily.

Rooted in culture and driven by creativity, BoucleDor is emerging as a rising force, an artist in motion whose sound is both soulful and universal.

Boucle Dor recorded a new set at Les Carrières des Lumières in Marseille for our Prima Lux series. Enjoy!

WWD: For people discovering you right now: who is Boucle Dor?

Boucle Dor is a DJ and producer. My goal isn’t just to mix tracks I wanna build a vibe, a mood, a whole moment. Every set is different, every set tells a story.

WWD: Where are you from?

I’m from France more specifically, Marseille. That’s where I’m building my project, but my energy is really international. My sound is inspired by different cultures and scenes.

WWD: How long have you been making music?

I’ve been doing this for a few years now. And the more time passes, the more serious it becomes producing, testing, improving… it’s a real discipline.

WWD: How would you describe your sound?

My base is Afro Oriental Tech afro percussion, oriental influences, groove, club energy. But I don’t lock myself into one style. If the location inspires it, I can go more Indie Dance, Tech House, darker vibes… whatever fits the moment.

WWD: What do you want people to feel during your sets?

I want people to actually feel something. Not just dance for two seconds and forget it. I want a build-up, tension, release… a set that stays in your head.

WWD: You often say you play a different set in every place. Why?

Because I can’t stand playing on autopilot. Every place has its own energy, its own color. So I adapt to the location, the crowd, the atmosphere. That’s what makes it real.

WWD: You play in some crazy locations. What’s the idea behind that?

It gives music a whole different dimension. A club set is cool, but when you play in a unique place, it becomes a memory. It turns a DJ set into an experience.

WWD: How do you choose the locations?

I look for places with a soul. A place that tells a story, that has strong visuals and emotion. Then I try to build a vibe that matches the scenery.

WWD: What does the Carrières des Lumières represent for you?

That place is something else. It feels like you’re inside a movie. It’s mystical, massive… and for me it was obvious the set had to be darker and more hypnotic.

WWD: Musically, what did you play at the Carrières des Lumières?

That’s the thing I didn’t play my usual Afro Oriental Tech set. I went more Indie Dance / Tech House, darker, more mental. The place really inspired that direction.

WWD: Technically, is it hard to organize sets like that?

Yeah, it’s a whole different level. You gotta plan everything: access, sound, electricity, equipment, timing… but that’s also why the result feels so special.

WWD: Can you tell us about your new release?

Yeah. On January 30th, I’m dropping a new track called ‘I Want You’. It’s a proper club record, kinda summer energy, but still emotional groove, tension, release. It really fits my universe.

WWD: Have you already received support on the track?

Yeah, and that’s big for me. It’s already being supported by Deer Jade. That’s a strong sign, because she’s a real one in the scene and her support means a lot.

WWD: You also run a label: Adama Records. What’s the vision behind it?

Adama Records is a vision. It’s not just “a label to release music”. I co-founded it with David Hopperman, and we want to put out tracks with real identity strong artistic direction. We also wanna push artists who clearly have a signature and real potential.

WWD: And “Les 3 Ours” — what is it exactly?

Les 3 Ours is my craziest project: I created the first hot-air balloon festival in France with DJ sets inside hot-air balloons. It’s a unique concept, and it really represents me taking music out of the usual frames and creating something people never forget.

WWD: Thanks a lot for the chat!

Thanks 🙂 All my sets are available on my YouTube channel. That’s where you can really understand the Boucle Dor universe: every location, every set, every story.
