For When We Dip Magazine’s Main Mix series, we’re thrilled to welcome Einmusik for episode #193, a special session celebrating the release of his latest single Baba Marta, out now on his long-running imprint Einmusika Recordings.

A defining figure in the melodic techno and progressive house landscape, Einmusik has spent more than two decades refining a sound that balances emotional depth with dancefloor momentum. Through both his own productions and the carefully curated output of Einmusika Recordings, which he launched in 2008, he has helped shape a global community of artists and listeners drawn to immersive, melodic club music.

His new single Baba Marta arrives with a spirit of renewal, inspired by the Bulgarian tradition celebrating the end of winter and the arrival of spring. Reflecting that same sense of warmth and optimism, the track channels uplifting melodic energy and personal studio inspiration, a fitting soundtrack as the season begins to shift and dancefloors around the world come back to life.

To mark the release, Einmusik delivers a special Main Mix #193 for When We Dip, offering a journey through the melodic and progressive sounds that continue to define his artistic universe.

We also caught up with him to talk about the inspiration behind Baba Marta, the ongoing evolution of Einmusika Recordings, life and creativity in Berlin, and what continues to drive his passion after more than twenty years in the scene.

WWD: Your new single ‘Baba Marta’ is landing on your own imprint, Einmusika Recordings. What inspired the track and what kind of atmosphere or story were you aiming to capture with it?

‘Baba Marta’ comes with a lot of friendly spring vibes. We had a nice but also a long winter in Berlin and when I was working on it I was already with my heart and wishes in the moment of the year when birds start beeping and trees become greener every day. A while ago I heard about the Bulgarian ‘Baba Marta’ (Grandma March) where they celebrate the end of the winter. This perfectly fits my new single.

WWD: Your productions have always balanced melodic depth with dancefloor energy. When you were shaping ‘Baba Marta,’ did it come together more from a club perspective or from a more personal studio moment?

When I’m working on music I’m trying to free my mind and not plan the outcome of the session. In this case ‘Baba Marta’ was definitely a more personal and vibey studio session.

WWD: You launched Einmusika Recordings back in 2008, and it’s grown into a respected platform for both emerging artists and established names. What still excites you about running the label after all these years?

From my personal view it’s very essential to let new talents into the scene. This refreshes the community and keeps the spirit alive. This basically is the work of a label and it turned out my taste as an A&R resonates with the people. So i’m still very happy and glad doing what I’m doing.

WWD: The label has also been home to some incredible collaborations and releases recently – including music from artists like Hernán Cattáneo and Soundexile. How do you approach balancing legendary names with the younger talent you’re developing on the roster?

Yes, we are so happy that these legends still trusting our channel, like ‘The Voice In My Head’ whicb isn’t the first release of Hernan on Einmusika. From the label perspective it totally makes sense to subtly establish also newcomers through the years.

WWD: What made their track, ‘The Voice In My Head,’ a perfect fit for the label?

Usually it’s only my taste as the A&R that matters, so if I like it I will release it. In general we are not too focused on one (seasonal) sound therefore we present a very wide range of melodic and progressive music. In this case we were working with Hernan a little while to make another release possible. We are glad it finally worked out again with these two pristine songs.

WWD: Running Einmusika Recordings alongside your own production career must give you a unique perspective on the scene. Has being a label head changed the way you approach your own music?

Not as much as it changed my DJ sets, i’m usually trying most songs before signing and if i’m feeling comfortable with playing them I know they could become successful through our channels.

WWD: After more than two decades releasing music under the Einmusik alias, how has your creative process evolved since the early days?

Unfortunately my studio time became very limited and I need to plan myself appointments to work on new music. That is the main difference to my early beginnings.

WWD: Summer is fast approaching where you have a string of festivals – Airbeat One Festival, Nature One Festival, & Sundance Albania to name a few – on the roster. What excites you most about this season? How do you prepare mentally and physically for such intense travel?

Summer is my favorite season. Everything feels light, everyone seems more happy and music reaches the people in a very different way. Usually I will face some crazy traveling marathons, but it’s always worth it.

WWD: The emotional side of your music has always stood out. Do you consciously try to evoke certain feelings in your productions or does that happen more instinctively?

I never did this on purpose, but it turned out that my purist approach on music resonates the most with my audience. I’m very glad about that and so I keep on bringing exactly this.

WWD: Berlin has long been a central hub for electronic music. How has living and working there shaped the evolution of the Einmusik project?

It definitely helped me to focus on my music as Berlin is big and in the end nobody cares about you. This way you can develop your very own universe of sound without being permanently judged by a small bubble, like in smaller cities. I think this still makes the difference.

WWD: After more than 20 years shaping melodic techno and house, what continues to motivate and inspire you?

At the moment I’m working with so many amazing and promising new artists, like my latest collabs with Jordan Arts, Delta Vaults, Siim Griffel, Shel-ly just to name a few, and I’m constantly surprised and excited by their visions of music. This is very inspiring and definitely influences my pov on things today.

WWD: Sounds amazing! Thanks for the chat 🙂

Thanks!
