Greek duo Boys’ Shorts have spent years earning the trust of queer clubbing communities and dance music tastemakers alike, with releases on Phantasy, Live At Robert Johnson, HE.SHE.THEY, and Iptamenos Discos, as well as relentless DJ sets across Europe and the US. Named by The New York Times as one of ‘5 Artists To Watch’, Vangelis and Tareq now step into a defining new chapter, unveiling their debut album ‘What Does It Take To Make These Men Happy?’ on their freshly launched imprint ALL SORTS.

Ahead of the album’s release, we are delighted to share the premiere of ‘Short Life’, one of its standout moments. Built around a classic passage of strings and synthesis, the track opens with an emotional weight that slowly gives way to the hedonism Boys’ Shorts have always channeled so well. It moves with intent, physical and intimate, capturing the tender space between bodies on a late-night dancefloor and the after-glow that follows. The production sits beautifully between the pristine indie-disco and Italo references that defined the duo’s earlier work and the broader palette they explore throughout the record, spanning sensual house, electro-pop, disco, acid, and slow-burning techno.

‘What Does It Take To Make These Men Happy?’ arrives as an emotionally rich body of work exploring longing, connection, nostalgia, and modern intimacy. Shaped by years of shared history, remote collaboration, and lived experience touring through queer-led clubs in Europe and the US, the album captures the duo’s core ethos of music for connection, release, and feeling, without sacrificing playfulness or groove. With touring history spanning Panorama Bar, Le Bain, Basement, and House of YES, alongside support slots for Hot Chip and Alison Goldfrapp, Boys’ Shorts arrive at this moment as trusted stewards of queer club culture. Their new imprint ALL SORTS feels like the natural home for this record, giving them the creative freedom to move effortlessly between the dancefloor and the after-hours that follow.

You can now listen to the full premiere of ‘Short Life’ exclusively on When We Dip Radio. Enjoy!
