Swedish producer Vincent Casanova has long been a trusted voice in the deeper corners of the electronic music world, and his latest release on San Francisco’s Manjumasi is another testament to that. Release number forty-four on the label, ‘Arrow of Time’ is a low-key cruising groover that showcases his unique knack for deep, hypnotic basslines and ethereal vocals, pleasantly drenched in spacious reverb while groovy percussion punches through the mix. The track gently washes over you like slowly sinking into a warm bath.

Manjumasi, the label co-founded by atish and Mark Slee, has built a reputation for releasing complex, deep melodic dance music since its inception in San Francisco. With a growing catalogue that includes releases from artists such as atish, Saultloom, and of course Vincent Casanova himself, the label continues to be a reliable home for thoughtful, groove-oriented electronic music.

On remix duties is none other than Manjumasi co-founder Mark Slee, whose quirky interpretation dials back the tempo and wraps an undulating arpeggio around the original vocals. Little modulations and tweaks push the melody gently to and fro as the track evolves, painting a sonic picture of a mildly drunken synthesizer wandering its way through deep space soundfields.
