Freerange Records proudly presents ‘SUN,’ the brand new album from Crackazat – a radiant, genre-spanning statement and the long-awaited follow-up to his critically acclaimed 2021 LP ‘Evergreen.’

‘SUN’ is Crackazat’s fourth album and his most expansive work to date: a rich blend of jazz, house, hip-hop, soul, and funk that fully steps into his own lane as a musician, bandleader, collaborator, song writer and producer. Flowing effortlessly between moods and genres, the album reveals the full scope of his artistry – from intricate keys and deep basslines to lush vocal features and extended live arrangements. It’s unmistakably Crackazat: warm, musical, deeply crafted – yet full of moments that feel fresh, unexpected, and alive.

At its core, ‘SUN’ draws on the idea of the sun as life’s foundation – our shared source of warmth, light, and energy. Crackazat channels that universal force into music designed to uplift, connect, and radiate timeless positivity.

Blending traditional musicality with a contemporary, UK take on funk, soul, pop, dance, and jazz, ‘SUN’ captures the spirit of the Brit-Funk revival for a new generation – “the jazz funk album Crackazat always wanted to make.”

The album is Crackazat’s first fully collaborative record, featuring standout vocal performances from EvaLazarus, Lyric Jones, Cap1talA, and Olivier St. Louis, alongside guest musicians recorded between Stockholm and New York. Live drums and percussion (Tamez Dolev), horns (Andreas Gidlund, Karl Olandersson), and bass intertwine seamlessly with electronic production, resulting in a sound that feels internationally classic yet unmistakably forward-thinking – “Fred Again.. for jazz funk heads”, rooted in groove and glowing with soul.

Reflecting on the journey behind the album, Crackazat shares: “Growing up in the 90s was an amazing musical experience. Club and electronic music had exploded and constantly shook hands with pop, rock bands, R&B and hip hop. Everything I loved about music was alive and well, and even at a young age, it completed me. I’ve spent the last 10 years making what I believe to be the best club music I can – club music with soul and depth. For a long time I kept my distance from the overground world.  I think in the end I was waiting to see if someone else would make the music I was missing – from my childhood, and from the industry in general. Alas, in the end you realise that you are the answer to your own question. The time of holding off from my own calling has finally passed. So here it is. My hand raised. Remembering and missing it too. That warmth, musicality, soul and groove. That Sun.”
