Oliver & Tom return with one of their most evocative offerings to date, this time landing on Prague based imprint Melody Of The Soul for the very first time. The Buenos Aires duo, formed by Andrés Martynowicz and Mauricio Infiesta, have spent the past few years building a reputation as one of Argentina’s most refined progressive voices, with releases on labels such as The Soundgarden, onedotsixtwo, Univack and Massive Harmony Records. Their sound is rooted in deep musicality, blending classical training on piano, guitar and synthesizers with a love for the long form, immersive language of progressive and melodic house.

Their two track EP, simply titled ‘Lotus’, captures everything that makes Oliver & Tom such a compelling proposition. The title cut, premiering today on When We Dip, unfolds with a hypnotic, low slung groove and warm atmospheric pads that wrap around the listener like a slow exhale. Subtle melodic flourishes and softly evolving textures give the track a meditative quality, while the rolling bassline and crisp percussion keep the dancefloor firmly in mind. It is a piece designed for those golden moments of a set when emotion and energy meet in perfect balance. The EP is rounded out by ‘Colombo’, a deeper companion that extends the same atmospheric world into the smaller hours.

Melody Of The Soul, the Czech imprint founded by M.O.S., continues to carve out a distinct identity within the wider melodic and progressive scene. With a roster that has welcomed the likes of Rauschhaus, Jamie Stevens, Zankee Gulati and PROFF, the label has quickly become a trusted home for emotive, forward thinking electronic music. Inviting Oliver & Tom into the fold feels like a natural fit, and the ‘Lotus’ EP marks the start of what promises to be a fruitful relationship between two of the most exciting names in melodic and progressive house right now.

You can now listen to the full premiere of ‘Lotus’ exclusively on When We Dip and ‘Colombo’ on our sister channel Dancefloor Romancer. Enjoy!
