La Zic founder Cristina Lazic returns to her own imprint with ‘That’s Right’, a release that shifts shape depending on when you hear it, much like the desert sands that inspired its mood. The original is a pure distillation of Cristina’s signature sound, rolling, bold and fierce, where a hi-octane skipping groove meets a bubbly bassline and the dubby, spacey synths and pads that build patiently toward a proper hands-up, heads-down drop. To round out the package, the EP enlists two very different remix talents, Italian hitmakers Supernova and French-born enchanter YokoO, each offering their own reading of the track.

The version premiering here is YokoO’s, and it pulls ‘That’s Right’ deep into after-hours territory. Trading urgency for hypnosis, the SATYA curator wraps the track into a classy, loopy seven-minute jam built for the more minimal heads. It is sublime yet enigmatic, all subtle textures and slow-burning tension, the kind of cut made for the smallest hours when the floor thins out and the mood turns inward. It is a masterclass in restraint, and one that confirms why YokoO has become such a trusted name for those who chase depth over drama.

YokoO is a French-born, Lisbon-based DJ and producer who has spent more than fifteen years carving out a singular space in underground house, with a discography spanning All Day I Dream, Kindisch, Get Physical and his own SATYA label. Cristina Lazic, meanwhile, is an Italian-born, London-based artist and classically trained pianist whose work has appeared on the likes of Crosstown Rebels, and who launched La Zic in 2024 as a platform that blends a record label, an artist academy and events under one lunar, surrealist aesthetic. Sitting somewhere between minimal, deep tech and melodic house, La Zic has quickly become one of the scene’s most exciting young imprints, and ‘That’s Right’ is a fitting reminder of why.

You can now listen to the full premiere of ‘That’s Right’ (YokoO 4AM Tool Mix) exclusively on When We Dip Radio. Enjoy!
