Some records chase a trend. Others simply chase a feeling, and ‘Burning’ belongs firmly in the second camp. FunkT!de returns to SUNCTURE with a groove that smoulders rather than explodes, built on a rolling bassline, crisp live percussion and the warm, funk-leaning musicality that has quietly become his calling card. Horns and guitar licks weave through the arrangement instead of sitting on top of it, and the release of pressure arrives gradually rather than as a hard reset. It is made for that stretch of the night when the floor is full, the lights are low and nobody is checking the time.

FunkT!de is a groove-driven project living at the intersection of club rhythms and live instrumentation. Real drums, funky guitars, brass sections and uplifting basslines are the raw material, and the focus is always on movement and musicality rather than minimal repetition. Inspired by the colour and playfulness of modern house scenes, the project has built a catalogue that feels both contemporary and oddly timeless, and ‘Burning’ may be its most direct statement yet.

SUNCTURE arrived in 2026 as the label arm of Sunora, the duo formed by Chertkovski and Alar, with a clear remit: groove-led, emotionally resonant music rooted in warmth, atmosphere and artistic freedom. The imprint describes itself as the point where light meets the future, and the output so far has backed that up, from the launch EP ‘Echoes of Light’ through ‘Sunset to Sunrise’, ‘Fractal Ecstasy’ and ‘Disco Voices’. FunkT!de has been part of that story since day one, and ‘Burning’ is the latest chapter in one of the label’s closest partnerships.
