Toronto-based producer and DJ Adina Nova returns with the ‘Danger’ EP, a new three-track release landing on Cristoph’s Consequence Of Society Recordings on September 25. Featuring ‘Danger’, ‘Void’ and ‘Runaway’, the EP marks her debut on the imprint and captures a sound that keeps evolving, rooted in progressive and melodic electronic music while pulling more and more from indie dance and electronica.

Today we are premiering the title track and opener, ‘Danger’. Built on a restrained but uneasy groove, the track rides a funky, indie-influenced bassline beneath shifting synths and sharp flashes of heavier sound design, creating the feeling that something is just slightly off. A processed vocoder vocal slips through the mix to heighten the tension without ever stealing the spotlight, making it a hypnotic tool for the darker hours of the night.

Elsewhere on the EP, ‘Void’ heads into bigger and moodier territory, with spoken vocals, layered strings and a cinematic breakdown leading into a heavier second drop, while ‘Runaway’ closes the package on a more emotional and bittersweet note.

A rising name in the Toronto scene, Adina Nova has previously released music on Purified Records and Einmusika Recordings, and has played alongside artists such as Jody Wisternoff and HANA. Her latest outing finds a fitting home on Consequence Of Society Recordings, the label run by acclaimed progressive house artist Cristoph. Sharing its name with his long-running radio show, COS has become a trusted source for forward-thinking progressive and melodic club music.
