MAXIMILIAN returns to EVIDEON Studio Records with ‘Mikrokosmos EP. 8,’ a two-track journey through deep, hypnotic house, analogue textures and the darker edges of the underground.

Opening the A-side, ‘Le Couppey’ settles into a warm, stripped-back groove, blending minimal house rhythms with dub influences, subtle acid flourishes and an evocative spoken-word element. Patient and immersive, the track gradually builds its atmosphere rather than chasing an obvious peak. There’s plenty of space within the arrangement, allowing the groove and analogue character to breathe, a natural fit for deep late-night sets and heads-down dancefloors.

On the flip, ‘Brahms’ moves into deeper, more atmospheric territory. Expansive pads and rich analogue textures surround a driving groove, creating a darker and more cinematic feel. As the track develops, tension slowly gives way to a powerful emotional release, balancing raw club energy with a strong sense of musicality.

Across both sides, MAXIMILIAN keeps things focused on the fundamentals: groove, space, texture and movement. It’s a sound that feels rooted in the spirit of 90s underground house while avoiding the temptation to simply recreate the past.

That authenticity also extends to the production process. As with the wider EVIDEON catalogue, ‘Mikrokosmos EP. 8’ was created entirely from scratch using original hardware and analogue equipment, reinforcing the label’s commitment to vinyl culture and hands-on production.

Pressed exclusively to 180g, 45 RPM vinyl, ESR008 is a record built for selectors, collectors and dancefloors, two carefully crafted cuts with enough depth to reveal something new with every spin.
