Studio On The Rock’s underrated duo takes control of Velvet [Preview]

When We Dip
Events, Montréal, North America
30 September 2016

Summer is over and cooler waves of parties are coming up for the Studio On The Rock crew! This Saturday October 1 join their promising duo Ahwé Benzine in the old port of Montreal as they will play a passionate set with infinite energy at Velvet. All. Night. Long. That’s right!

Jade Oueini & Nadim started this project in the current year and do not imagine they just started Dj’ing. Jade has over 10 years of experience and Nadim is catching up fast! They are versatile and play on cdjs & turntables. They will make you groove into the night with mostly deep house tracks but don’t think this night will be in one direction only! Ahwé Benzine blend genres ranging from tribal house to melodic techno and the duo carefully chooses what is right for the moment.

Their debut start at Newspeak in the Summer was a success along side their affiliated crew Studio on the Rock. The duo have also performed in some underground pop-up parties organized by Studio on the Rock notably at the Piknic Electronik parking lot. Some dancers report that the vibe was more fun than Piknic’s opening day but that’s for another discussion!

Jade & Nadim have already spinned in the hidden cave of l’Auberge Saint-Gabriel individually with Studio on the Rock DJs and they revealed that Velvet has always been a positive influence on their music. When Cherry night club closed down, the main deep house influence they got came from magical nights inside Velvet’s cave. If you haven’t yet visited the place, it’s worth the detour! What about the name Ahwé Benzine you ask? It’s a mystery not looking to be solved!

In the meantime, you can enjoy their most recent mix:
