Came across this EP a few days back and have had it on loop ever since. While not being a household name as of yet, this release from Damian S on the Greek label The Sound of Everything might well propel him towards bigger and better things.
The first track, “I’m Dreaming”, is certainly the highlight. Damian S carves out a waving melody in a style reminiscent of Ibiza stalwarts Benoit & Sergio, with satisfying simplicity at its core. The reverberant breakdown underlies a whispered vocal line and when the bass re-emerges, the quality of the track is
confirmed.
“Don’t Say” exudes an echoey, blissed-out vibe that’s full of originality. The distanced deep house sound lends itself towards this being an incredibly atmospheric track.
The third track, “I Will Follow”, comes across as a more upbeat, summer-friendly tune. With another slick breakdown and jangling melodies, it’s a go-to for a sunny day.
