Lost and Found Festival: Annie Mac’s Maltese party is back for 2018

For many, the May bank holiday weekend is a time for rest, an opportunity to put your feet up and not think about work for a few days. Now that could be spent at home, but the more excited among you will be wanting to get away, into a rave, in the hot Mediterranean sunshine. And where could you do that? Well, Annie Mac presents Lost and Found is a good place to start.

2018 will be the festivals fourth edition, and with three prior years under their belt, it’s safe to say things will be delivering on all fronts. Headlining this year will be festival curator herself Annie Mac, alongside a British DJ and producer whose presence in the scene is felt across every single genre out there: Four Tet. He began things in a rock band at 15, and now the Putney born heavyweight has been serving up stripped back, melodic, house infused jazzy numbers for years now. With appearances at festivals few and far between, we’d recommend you don’t sleep on this one.

Now then onwards and upwards, and flying the flag for the tech house gang this time round is none other than Knee Deep in Sound front-man Hot Since 82, Cuttin Headz curators The Martinez Brothers, and Hot Creations affiliate Patrick Topping. Also on the bill is Lauren Lo Sung, an artist that’s been turning heads for a while now with her smooth track selection and even smoother mixing. Anyone care for some groovy, minimal sounding beeps and squeaks in the hot Mediterranean sunshine? Then these artists have got you covered.

From the deeper, discoey side of house and the softer side of techno, we’ve got a selection of artists that really do encapsulate the vibe of this festival, so we’ll rattle them off quickly to get you in the mood. Ready? Bicep, Kolsch, Jackmaster, Artwork, Denis Sulta, Tiga, Peggy Gou, Mall Grab, HAAi, Heidi and Midland. Oooosh, now you can’t tell us that’s not an absolute corker. If the antics of Artwork and Denis Sulta are anything to go by last year, (spraying CO2 cannons straight into the crowd), then you know this isn’t to be missed.

Now then bass heads, myself included, don’t think our lass Annie has neglected or forgotten about us. Because Lost and Found represents the underground on all fronts, so flying the flag for the screw face squad this time we’ve got DJ Q, whose weekly free downloads have been a blessing from the gods to say the least, My Nu Leng, Dub Phizix and Strategy, Jamie Duggan, TS7, and none other than Digital Soundboy Recordings honcho and all round old skool, junglist DnB legend: Shy FX.

So it’s safe to say things are looking exciting. There’s a lot going on, and that means there’s something to tickle any electronic music fans fancy. With 6 months to go we’d suggest you start getting things organised, time flies when you’re having fun.

Annie Mac Presents Lost and Found festival lands in Malta on the 3rd-6th May Bank Holiday 2018. Tickets here
