Under:tones is the new project from Italian electronic music pioneer Alex Neri in partnership with producer, performer and Florence legend, Matteo Zarcone. Looking to break new ground and experiment outside of their usual sonic remit the pair have crafted something fresh while still firmly rooted in their electronic history.

3, the first single from under:tones begins with a delicate melody of ephemeral triads but quickly evolves into something akin to a rolling wave as more and more layers of syncopated rhythms and jarring melodies are added to create a full on but strangely soothing sonic experience.

The group has been formed around a planned audio-visual live show which is set to premier early in the new year and if the music video for 3 is anything to go by it is likely to be an impressive sight. Every frame in the video is literally a painting, hand painted by Italian artist Matteo Giampaglia, it is a truly stunning piece of art that really adds weight to the commitment by under:tones to create something artistically all encompassing.

There is word that a whole album has been completed and with the weight that Neri and Zarcone hold there is likely to be much more heard from under:tones before long.
