With more genres appearing almost on a weekly basis, its strange that nowadays it is difficult to pigeon hole one specific track to one specific genre. However Frau Blau have nailed this idea with its new Cosmic Disco EP. The tracks in this 4 track compilation are Cosmic Disco, and so thats rightly the name of the EP here.
Label boss and Innervisions and Watergate artist Kadosh kicks off proceedings, with a bubbling bassline and an ascending pad laden chord progression, for some uplifting feel good magic. Solid stuff.
Disco Halal and Blaufield Music artists Pongo treats us to some emotional vibes, while a pulsating bassline marks the tracks path before a smile inducing apr brings some light.
Mysterious artist Kovi goes all sci-fi and retro, yet keeps it fresh. A big bassline of dirtiness, some cool blippy tones and some quirky FX, slightly melancholic yet with a dance floor punch.
Rounding things off nicely, British artist, now Berlin based Kris Davis goes all tinkly toned on us, after recent work appearing on Exotic Refreshment and Connaisseur. He brings some quirky bass vibes and a simple yet effective drum pattern, in this genre straddling affair.
