Boasting an impressive catalogue of spellbinding releases on the likes of Diynamic, Afterlife, Wolf & Lamb, Watergate and their very own Siamese Recordings, the coveted Swiss duo now make their eagerly anticipated debut on German imprint Embassy One, as they lay down a grandiose interpretation of WhoMadeWho’s critically acclaimed album single Silence & Secrets.
Road tested to rapturous reception over the past few months at the likes of Timewarp (NYC), Printworks (London), The Loft (Amsterdam), DC10 (Ibiza) and on home turf at the legendary Nordstern (Basel), Adriatique’s masterful rework acts as a fascinating microcosm to their highly acclaimed DJ sets. Long, meditative and relentlessly building affairs, the duo consistently challenge with their resplendent sound experiment, teasing the recipient with subtle twists and hypnotic grooves at every turn.
Out now, the epic seven-minute cut sees production partners Adrian Shala and Adrian Schweizer breathe a pulsating energy into the haunting original, imparting an impressive tapestry of analog instrumentation, driving bass and dynamic production techniques to the third album single of WhoMadeWho’s eagerly awaited seventh long player. Toying with melody, texture and tonality across the entirety of the remix, Adriatiques’s work honours the raw emotional quality for which the duo have become famed, cultivating a euphoric sonic palate that captivates from the off. Cavernous atmospheres and swelling tones meet majestic synth leads and drawn out breakdowns, bringing this standout piece of vocal dance music into a new and truly imaginative light.

“We have been exploring opportunities to collaborate with WhoMadeWho since quite some time. This fall, while they were finishing their upcoming album and we were working on remixes, we exchanged some thoughts and Tomas Barfod asked if we would be up to remix their next single ‘Silence & Secrets’. The timing could not have been better, as we were just working in the studio and gave it a listen. Three days later we had a draft ready and were able to test it for the first time during ADE. In general we’re rather easy-going when it comes to deadlines and the swift outcome with this remix is a testimony for how much fun we had.
