First lady of electronic underground, Maya Jane Coles returns to her own I/AM/ME imprint with the dark, stripped-back roller ‘Freefall’ featuring alluring R&B singer-songwriter Moxie Knox. The single releases with accompanying remixes by ZeroFG & Ruff Style.

Building on her sonic signature, ‘Freefall’’s central focus is the beautiful and haunting vocal work from Moxie. Held up by a growling, fuzzy bassline and delicate drum work, ‘Freefall’ stands at the precipice of functional club and easy-listening headphone music. The single gets a UK Garage rework by mysterious producer ZeroFG who also flips the script with a second remix under his alias Ruff Style. Maya reflects on how the song came about, “Moxie’s vocals were a dream to work with, definitely one of my favourite tracks I’ve worked on this year! ZeroFG didn’t disappoint with the remixes, especially the one under his Ruff Style alias which is my personal favourite!”

Moxie adds, “I’m so excited about this collaboration with Maya! I wrote ‘Freefall,’ acappella as an ode to songwriting itself. Maya crafted the track around it and I’ve been dancing to its dreamy vibes ever since.”
