Tender Games Play All The Right Notes

Refreshing! That’s the word that sums up this incredibly well thought out effort from Tender Games, an amalgamation of two very fine talents in Marlon Hoffstadt (of BBC Radio 1 Future Stars fame) and singer/songwriter HRRSN. The two Berlin based boys have put together an 11 track LP which is sure to make a stir beyond the straight up dance circles. Carelessly blending house, electronica, garage, blues and maybe dare I say it a hint of pop, the two have managed to create an album that is full of certified dancefloor goodness while also accessible to those who aren’t looking for that straight club sound.

The highlights are many and numerous with funky numbers like Want It All guaranteed to get those movement fibres in gear, and on the other end of the spectrum, blues tracks like In Her Bed showing off a softer side to both artists (with a helping hand from some on point vocals courtesy of Miss NatNat). A definite highlight is the incredibly catchy In A Mess which reminds this blog of a certain SBTRKT, blending luscious drums with an undeniable gem of a garage vocal. Too Late also strikes a chord with its lively percussion and addictive vocal snippets as does Freak In The Sheets featuring Forrest which shows a more laidback side to these talented fellows. Tender Games even found time to put something together with our man Stee Downes who as usual puts in a stellar shift, adding an addictive hook to a stripped back instrumental for maximum effect.

It’s a safe bet that this won’t be the first you hear of this album, we’ve already had it on non stop since we got the promo!

The album is available to pre order now.
