Felix Da Housecat Makes Dublin Return For September Date

When We Dip
Events
2 September 2014

The man is a legend, an integral part of the house music scene for the past 25 years and to top it off one of the most impressive performers you are likely to see on the dance circuit. We are of course referring to the man named Felix Stallings JR or more commonly as Felix Da Housecat. The Chicago native was ensconced in the house movement in his hometown from his teens and honed his skills alongside the legendary DJ Pierre amongst others. When he caught his break with Phantasy Girl it was at the tender ages of 15 and it kickstarted a long and prestigious career at the top table of house music.

Since then Felix has produced countless records, charting a rise to the top with a host of successes none other than Kittenz and Thee Glitz which was way ahead of its time and pioneered the electro clash sound. Nowadays Felix is a distinctly different animal having swapped the electro tinged house sound for something altogether more sleek. Carefully blending techno, house and disco into one hell of a runaway train, the much loved disc jockey kickstarted his revitalization with his Clandestine residency in Space last year and he has continued with some well chosen island sets this year as well as a full touring schedule. With two new albums on the horizon it seems the Housecat is firmly back on track. His Aphrohead moniker has returned with some force (he sold out his first release Grown Man Cry almost instantly) and his new album as Felix is rumoured to contain numerous special guest features and a host of ear catching tracks.

All in all it seems like the time is ripe for a return to Dublin and who better to provide the occasion that JACK, a crew of promoters who have put together some of the most impressive house and techno shows in the country over the past 12 months. Felix already put in a stellar performance for the brand as part of their Paddy’s Day celebrations last year and who would bet against the enigmatic groover doing the same once more on September 12th. Early birds for this one are already gone so get your hands on those tickets before it’s too late. WWD recommended.

Tickets: Felix Da Housecat @ JACK – The Button Factory Sept 12th
