Dilate is a collaborative project formed by Cian Moynagh, Saila and Kridelka. Revolving around a Montréal-Dublin-Bruxelles axis, the trio innovates through Moynagh’s musicality, Saila’s analog expertise and Kridelka’s acidic tendencies. Their debut EP ‘Three Body Problem’ is set to come out this fall. In this hour-long mix, Dilate presents 12 original unreleased tracks.

The mix opens with Cian Moynagh’s gentle piano and saxophone piece, The One With The Sax. Next is Alchemy, where classical instruments are traded for heavy bass and deep synth stabs, showcasing the amplitude of the young Irishman’s musical range.

‘Rooftop Radio’ proves an uplifting offering where slight changes in intensity of the different arps and chords create an enticing dance.

The heavy kick of Saila’s ‘Lost at Sea Edit’ brings the energy back to sea level as a familiar voice and a gritty bass progression takes the listener to unmapped territories.

Washing ashore on the other side of the Atlantic, Saila layers rolling bass and sharp drums on ‘2C Bristol’. The joyful lead falls into a stellar arp taking us to the next record.

On the 2-sided affair that is ‘Three-body problem’, a heavy kick, acid line and howling loon lead the way into the break. The second half sees warm keys, bongos and a rowdy bass take over before it begins a dialogue with the acid line from the first part.

That’s when ‘Oil The Fence’s squeaky arp enters, creeping its way into the mix whilst an infectious lead synth and gleamy chords meet the groovy bassline. Julien Kridelka’s ‘Ghetto Disco’ explores the fundamental relationship between french touch and acid house. The highly anticipated single comes out on Jack City July 21st.

Kridelka’s edit of Louie Vega’s How He Works revisits the track’s church choir roots, combining them with a modern disco bassline and vinyl-sampled drums. ‘In Bound 303’, Kridelka channels the classic gospel quintet, infusing soulful energy into the melancholic acid melody. ‘It’s A Blur’ takes things to a darker side as the vocal chops lead us to a massive drop. Dancefloor heater.

Ultimately, ‘Disco Ride’ proves a victory lap on The Edge… The jackin’ drums, screaming tb-303 and robotic vocals all combine to close things out with a bang.
