Berlin-based HOVR’s debut EP on Heimlich Musik is called ‘Holding On’ and marks the 32nd EP of the label. The original mix of the title track is a well-balanced composition of subtle vocals, powerful acid lines and classic drum machines underlined by hypnotic pads.

The second track ‘Cosmic Cowboy’ lives up to his name with a good pinch of 80s aesthetic created by dreamy vintage synthesizers.

Taking the vocals of the original as a foundation Freudenthal’s interpretation of ‘Holding On’ is an energetic disco banger that can’t go without a distinctive arpeggio bassline.

By picking up selected elements of the original mix of ‘Holding On’ and by adding a selection of distorted sounds the second remix contribution by Kalipo rounds up the EP as a whole with an aggressive arrangement influenced by electroclash.
