Australia by way of Berlin artist Kristin Velvet, shares her second EP of 2024 “Flex / Rhyme by Rhyme” on Arms & Legs. On this latest offering, Kristin Velvet pays homage to her Chicago house, hip-house, and disco influences. ‘Flex’ is a bonafide party-starter while ‘Rhyme by Rhyme’ has a darker feel with a pulsating beat and hard-edged 808 elements.

The release follows on from a standout year in 2023 where she served up big EPs for BBC Radio 1 presenter Danny Howard’s Nothing Else Matters label and for Josh Wink’s legendary Ovum Recordings, toured Australia and Brazil, played a number of Elrow dates on the Amnesia Ibiza terrace all while continuing to it hold down with her residency at Watergate Berlin and running her label Arms & Legs alongside Daniel Steinberg. All this comes on top of a decade of big tunes with numerous collaborations with Felix Da Housecat, outings on Cassy’s Kwench and Hot Since 82’s Knee Deep in Sound label.

Kristin Velvet is no stranger to the top of the charts either. Her party-starting sounds have clocked up numerous Beatport top 10 positions while gaining support from industry peers such as The Blessed Madonna, Carl Cox, Fat Boy Slim, Dave Clarke, Damian Lazarus, Eats Everything, Maya Jane Coles and Jamie Jones. Velvet’s sound channels her influences of 90ies Chicago and Detroit house, golden era hip-hop and UK big beat all with a unique, fresh and forward-thinking twist.
