Finnish DJ and producer LUMI will arrive on HE.SHE.THEY on May 3rd with a 3-track EP titled ‘Who Am I.’ Merging her heritage with her explorative musical nature, LUMI has quickly established herself as an artist of both style and substance. HE.SHE.THEY is a platform designed for those who push boundaries, creating a sanctuary, a place without prejudice and where people can be people.

Over just three tracks LUMI is able to demonstrate an intuitiveness for her sound that has been key to her early success. Title track ‘Who Am I’ is a slow burning, tech house jaunt starting off with flurries of powdery glitch effects before the introduction of a jagged synth, thumping tribal drumming, and LUMI’s icy, echoing vocals.

“‘Who Am I’ is about the concept of finding myself and figuring out where I belong/where I’m going especially as it relates to my music” says LUMI.

‘Higher’ bears many of the hallmarks of main room techno – from the impulsive bassline to the metronomic percussion – but with a pinch of 00s minimal and the insertion of her alluring vocals, LUMI injects a shot it’ pizzazz into this stern Techno endeavour. Finally, ‘Hold Me’ transitions from a swooning, melodic ambience that’s caught up in a whirlwind of vocal harmonies into a jittery-prog heavy melody to round off LUMI’s whistle stop tour of the electronic music spectrum.
