It’s time to take out your sandals and cover your body with oil. The sun is back and brings with it new music on REBA in the form of the ‘Herb’ EP from label boss himself, Remcord.

The opening is greatly inspired and motivated by long dub and reggae sessions. ‘Herb’ starts with an applied groove built around percussive sounds with a strong personality and then introduces a powerful and airy synthesizer.

‘Colombian Gold’ uses the same fundamentals but here it is a mischievous sequence that comes as an unexpected surprise. A composition where one recognizes the influences of the magic herb.

‘Back From Gotham’ closes this hard-hitting EP. Here the message is more intimate, personal, and the melody which carries us throughout most of the piece encourages reconnection with the essential.

As usual, a lot of love and a bit of grass was used in Remcord’s musical process.
