Cali Lanauze joins forces with Ryan Crosson and Greg Paulus for ‘A Matter Of Time’ accompanied by remixes from Reboot and YokoO. The release is out on Opulence, the label run by Cali himself.

Cali Lanauze is a San Juan, Puerto Rico born DJ, producer, promoter and label boss of Opulence, a widely revered imprint that’s featured reputed artists in its catalogue such as Roman Flugel, Cristi Cons, Martin Buttrich, and Dan Ghenacia. Cali has over a decade under his belt as a driving force of the raw stripped back house sound and is a figurehead for Puerto Rico’s underground. Here, after the success of his recent milestone ‘Borderline’ EP, his debut for Crosstown Rebels, Cali returns to Opulence once again to deliver his new project, a collaboration with Visionquest co-founder Ryan Crosson and featuring trumpeter Greg Paulus.

The original mix of ‘A Matter Of Time’ opens, seeing Cali and Crosson’s sonic aesthetic perfectly merge via intricate percussive grooves and ethereal textural elements intertwined with Paulus’ hazy, jazz leaning trumpet work adding an organic flow and unique touch to the composition.

Reboot’s ‘Tikitiki Rework’ of ‘A Matter Of Time’ follows, his signature style seeing the original fragmented and interwoven with a snaking sub bass line, fluttering synth melodies, dynamic evolution and intricately nuanced effects ebbing and flowing throughout. YokoO then delivers his take to conclude the release, capturing the essence of the original whilst embracing a more robust rhythmic approach alongside unfurling atmospherics and modulating percussion throughout its eight-minute duration.

You can now listen to the full premiere of Reboot’s remix exclusively on When We Dip. Enjoy!
