Hear the lion roar, as Rex Stax unites with Zulu super star vocalist Lizwi to release the ‘Lion’ EP on Djuma Soundsystem’s label Iziki.

German afro house producer Rex Stax is known for his acclaimed collaborations with Idd Aziz, Stevo Atambire, and Mr. Vegas. Lizwi, one of South Africa’s most recognizable voices, brings her powerful emotional depth and signature storytelling to ‘Lion’.

On ‘Lion’, Lizwi’s soulful, yet powerful, spiritual voice, thunders over Rex Stax’ hard hitting rhythms, in a perfect blend on this afro tech killer.

On the flip side, Rex Stax drops another Afro-tech bomb with ‘Nafira’, a hard-hitting gem that’s not here to play nice. A haunting tribal vocal summons the dance floor into the heart of the jungle, where the rhythm rules and no one gets out unchanged.

Two remixes expand the journey: Sarab & Hunter (TN) infuse ‘Lion’ with deep, driving grooves shaped by their North African roots and international club presence. Sergey Masterov, a Moscow-based producer and co-founder of Louma label, delivers another remix of ‘Lion’ layered with intricate textures and melodic depth, showcasing his technical mastery and innovative sound design.

With ‘Lion’, IZIKI curates a collection that honors tradition while pushing Afro House forward, uniting voices and producers from Africa, Europe, and beyond. The EP stands as a celebration of strength, unity, and rhythm — a true reflection of Afro House’s spirit and cross-cultural connection.
